Timeless Wedding at Trolley Barn in Atlanta | Sarah Lynn & Austin

After years of long distance, Sarah Lynn & Austin are proof that distance can make the heart grow fonder. Their boundless love was evident all throughout their wedding day! Hosted at the historic Trolly Barn venue in downtown Atlanta, their wedding day was timeless, sophisticated, and sentimental in a way that made you feel as if you were transported inside a roaring 20’s romance film.

Getting Ready + First Looks

Imagine this — you’re surrounded by your closest girlfriends, getting all glammed up for one of the biggest days of your life, you’re giggling over breakfast and mimosas. The best part? You’re in your own home, able to fully relax in the comfort of the surroundings you’re most familiar with.

Being at home made the setting extra special for all of the different people seeing our lovely Bride for the first time all dressed up! We did a first look, of course, with the Bride and Groom, and then also with the Bride’s siblings, bridesmaids, & Dad.

I mean, c’mon, seeing your spouse-to-be for the first time on your wedding day at the same home you’ve already built so many memories in, and will continue to create memories in — it doesn’t get much better than that!

The Timeless Wedding Venue

Painted with vibrant shades of emerald green and crimson red, The Trolley Barn is the historic headquarters of the first electric streetcar system in the United States. As soon as you step onto the property, you feel instantly transported back into history — which makes this the perfect venue to host a modern wedding with a vintage taste! A crisp Autumn morning breeze turned into the perfect afternoon for this outdoor Atlanta ceremony. The days leading up until the wedding all forecasted rain, but luckily for us, the storm passed and it was dry all day long. We couldn’t have been happier! The gorgeous Autumn colors decided to make an appearance early this year which set the tone for a warm and inviting wedding day celebration.

Wedding Party & Bride + Groom Portraits

Because our Bride & Groom made the decision to see each other before the ceremony, it allowed us to complete most of the group/formal wedding photographs before guests arrived. This is especially helpful since their ceremony was closer to sunset. This meant we didn’t have to worry about losing daylight before our group shots were complete.

The best part about this is that Sarah Lynn & Austin were able to be present at their cocktail hour and mingle with all of their friends and family!

Their Wedding Ceremony

Let me be honest with you here for a second, Sarah Lynn and Austin’s wedding ceremony had us all (me included) shedding a happy tear or two. It was extremely sentimental and heartfelt. You could just feel the love in the air. To honor some of the important people in their lives, they had their good friend officiate the ceremony and their parents read poems about love. My favorite part? Our Bride and Groom planted a tree together to symbolize their ever-growing love. How sweet is that?!

Reception

After the wedding ceremony, guests went to cocktail hour while the venue brought all the chairs inside for the reception. Like I mentioned earlier, because most of the “formal” photographs were finished before the ceremony, Sarah Lynn & Austin were able to join their guests.

The happy tears continued into the night during the reception when the Bride’s sister performed an amazing speech where she used metaphor to compare the Bride to a little bird who had grown up and found her new home in a tree (A.K.A. her Groom). It made everyone tear up and laugh all-in-one.

When it was time for dancing, this couple opted for a live band to perform rather than a D.J. Personally, I love when couples choose to have live music because it elevates the vibes completely, and get’s EVERYONE dancing. Sarah Lynn & Austin had a beautifully choreographed upbeat first dance which impressed everyone! Our bride was absolutely the life of the party, especially when she got everyone to sing along with the band to “Dancing Queen” by ABBA.

Grand Exit

The whole wedding crowd danced through the night with no sign of stopping. I’m telling you — the live band makes all the difference when it comes to getting everyone up and onto the dance floor! The Bride and Groom opted to have a faux exit while the night was still young, so that they didn’t have to worry about it later. They chose a handful of people to step outside for a moment for the photo opportunity, but made sure that at least some of the wedding party was still inside to keep the dancing going! Towards the end of the reception, pizza was delivered for a late night snack which everyone loved.

This wedding day could not have been more perfect!
