Intimate Smoky Mountains National Park Engagement Session | Christian & Taylor

Cade’s Cove is a true gem of the Smoky Mountains National Park. Firstly, it offers unparalleled natural beauty and endless photo opportunities. The park offers a picturesque backdrop for engagement sessions with its rolling hills, lush forests, and stunning mountain views. Its perfect for couples seeking an intimate and nature-focused photo shoot. Secondly, the park’s 12-mile loop allows us to capture a variety of different backdrops within a short amount of time. Additionally, each season brings vibrant colors and textures like fall leaves and spring wildflowers. Plus, spotting wildlife is always an unexpected bonus within the park!

Last fall, I had the pleasure of shooting Christian and Taylor’s sunrise engagement session at Cade’s Cove. We arrived before dawn to set up and prepare for the shoot. Because of the lack of cell service, we met up outside the entrance to caravan in. The early morning fog enveloped the park in a gorgeous misty haze creating a moody and dreamy setting.

From the start, Christian and Taylor’s chemistry was undeniable. Their love for each other is evident in every photo! As we navigated our way through Cade’s Cove we found several spots along the way. Each location was a vibe from open fields to forested trails. We took advantage of the quiet environment to capture raw and candid moments between the couple.

Despite the grey skies and drizzly weather, the changing colors of fall leaves served as a stunning backdrop, adding warmth and vibrancy to the shoot. Christian and Taylor were complete naturals in front of the camera. They really let loose and didn’t hesitate trying out all of my crazy ideas and posing prompts.

Their outfits were also a major highlight of the shoot. They had two outfits for the session: first, a classy, dressier look with a silk dress and tweed jacket, and second, a more casual, simple look with sweaters and jeans. Against the natural backdrop, the neutral tones added a romantic contrast to the photos.

I am excited to see Christian and Taylor’s wedding come to life next June, and I know it will be nothing short of magical. I’m so grateful to have captured their love story at Cade’s Cove and look forward to returning to this stunning location for future shoots.
